.:Basic Personality:. Hecate is usually calm and logical rather than illogical and aggressive. Serenity has brought her to a bit of neutrality when it comes to all things dealing with the Gods. Most of their bickering and jealous rivalries she tends to stray from since she sees no gain in siding with any one individual. It’s not to say that she doesn’t get along with the other gods; Hecate finds herself bonding with varied individuals from Artemis and Selene to Nyx and Hades and even Athena. She had even once become the confidante of the beautiful Persephone during her stays in the Underworld.
A lover of things considered social outcasts; it is easy to see why someone like Hecate is not a popular god among mortals. The things most mortal seem the fear all seem to dwell near Hecate since she tries to find understand in differences rather than fear them. Ghosts are said to be attracted to her for that reason as she guides them on the next life, thus the title of the Goddess of the Crossroads. And witches praise her name since she is likely to teach any witch that falls into her grace. A lover of solitude, Hecate often finds herself straying from Olympus for less vibrant domains like Hades or even the mortal plain on the darkest of nights.
On occasion the daughter of Destruction can be quite wrathful, mainly to those that fall out of favor with her. Since she rarely sides with any one individual, it’s quite hard for someone to fall out of favor with her. But to those select few, a life of turmoil and ill will befalls them. Hecate’s cruelty knows no bounds since she was born to Destruction. Her spellcasting has been used to change mortals to beasts and harm others.

.:Family:.
.:History:. The sole child born to Asteria, the Titan of oracle and night, and Perses, the Titan of destruction. While she was not around when Nyx and Erebus were the rulers over all, her existence came shortly after Uranus was castrated and Cronus took rule. The event which would be considered the fall of the Titans did not involve her family in the beginning. It wasn’t until his brothers and freed the Hecatoncheires and Cyclopes that she was approached. Gifted with foresight, the Titan goddess sided with Zeus. All those who fought against Zeus were banished to Tatarus after the war while all other Titans were allowed to live in the new world. But her mother soon fell victim to Zeus’s lustful eyes. While Asteria was able to flee from his advances, her solution was had transformed her to the island Delos.
Alone in the new world, Zeus had done right by her. Hecate was allowed haven in any lands she chose, giving her such freedom that the maiden roamed about. During her wandering, Hecate had taken shelter in a cave waiting for night to come when she heard a shrieking. Days later Demeter approached her causing Hecate to lament over what she heard and what befall her daughter. As Demeter mourned, Hecate went down below to comfort Persphone in her new home of darkness until Demeter was able to get Zeus to bring the girl back, becoming her companion in Hades.
Later on a princess of Colchis had one won favor with the goddess, thus Hecate had showed her the way of witchcraft. Medea was able to use magic under Hecate’s guidance, becoming a powerful witch. But when Jason appeared in her country and with Hera’s help stole Medae’s heart, Hecate’s protection left the woman. While she is not solely a protector of virgins like Artemis, the goddess of witchcraft did not feel she needed to protect the Colchis princess since she had chose to go off with a man. Instead the goddess offers protection and guidance to any woman looking towards knowledge that Athena cannot quench with her domain over wisdom; the knowledge that only a witch knows.
.:RP Sample:.Hecate closed her eyes as she tried to remain calm. Things always got heated up too fast when she was around someone like Hebe. She had no qualms or quarrels with the young goddess. She was the daughter of the two ruling gods, the two gods that respected her authority instead of trying to cast her down with every other Titans. But their child was stubborn like a baby, and always resorted to name calling whenever there was a disagreement. ’Old crone!’ Oh how she hated that word whenever it was turned against her. It was bad enough there were those that praised her name and considered her some old hag of a goddess, but when those that she was supposed to be familiar with started shouting such an insult, Hecate had to use all her might not to restart a war that had already passed.
“…this is why I indulge in solitude,” she muttered to herself as the other kept shouting insults. Hecate could feel dark red eyebrow twitching. She was going to lose it if this kept up. She was going to try to cast a spell to topple this whole place, leaving nothing but rubble to entertain this child. She couldn’t draw baths and feed gods if there was no Olympus for them to dwell in. Of course such a thing was going to send Zeus into a fury all directed towards her, but at this point it might almost be worth it. A deep wrinkle formed in her head as her final nerve broke. “Hush!” she screeched, her voice echoing the halls of the gods. “I do not care if the witch rhymes with that word, I am have no domain over animals. If you want a doggie, talk to Artemis and leave me be.” Her words actually struck a chord since the girl went skipping off to go pester someone else. A sigh escaped her blood red lips as she felt herself want to collapse.
She could deal quite well with pregnant women full of hormones and mood swings, but children themselves seem to have no common sense. Did Athena feel this stressed around them, or did only Hera understand the twisted minds of children? Hecate did not know, nor did she want to waste time trying to understand why children were so quick to mock her. If Zeus did not have her shackled down in Tartarus like the others, then sure it meant she was someone to respect. And yet this type of mockery wasn't something Hebe solely played on. There were songs and rhymes on how she was some old bat. Hecate wasn't as vain as some Olympian women, but surely she didn't deserve such a title. Even if she was older than the Olympians and their ruler, it didn't mean she was that old.
A deep frown formed on her lips as the logical response said otherwise.[/blockquote]
