.:Look:. Aphrodite is an average sized woman, but still of desirable figure. She is, as many argue, the most beautiful woman in the world, and she knows it. She has brown hair with specks of blonde, but not too many. She has very long limbs and long muscles. Aphrodite has tan skin and dark brown alluring eyes. Her teeth are perfectly white, and her lips are a supple pink. In short, the loveliest of the Goddesses, as she likes to say.

.:Basic Personality:. Aphrodite is a cheerful Goddess who loves to please people. Aphrodite loves a good laugh and enjoys being with people who are very kind to her, and she absolutely loves being treated like a princess. Aphrodite almost expects people to treat her with luxury. She is a kind person, but very vain. She really does believe that she is the most beautiful woman in the world. Aphrodite is the type of person who becomes very upset when someone is better than her at something that she values, such as beauty or seducing men.

Aphrodite does have quite the wrath. If she sees someone who might be a little bit better looking than her (though no one truly is), she destroys them if they are a mortal, and she holds a grudge against them if they are immortal. She becomes quite angry and upset if someone insults her, and she'll go out of her way to get back at them. She treats strangers as if they should worship her, which they must anyway, but she is very hospitable to those that she deems respectable.

.:History:.
Aphrodite was born of sea foam near Paphos, Cyprus after immortal Cronus cut off mortal Ouranos' genitals and threw them behind him into the sea, and so out of the foam came Aphrodite. She came out of the sea on a scallop shell, and was hailed an the "Cyprian".


Due to her incredible looks, Zeus was frightened that she would cause tension amongst other Gods and end up in a massive clash of war. He married her off to Hephaestus, the lame God of Smithing. In another version of this story, Hera, Hephaestus' mother, had cast him off Olympus; deeming him ugly and deformed. His revenge was to trap Hera in a throne, and then to request Aphrodite's hand in marriage for Hera's release. Hephaestus was excited to be married to the Goddess of Beauty and so he made her beautiful jewelry, including a golden girdle that made her even more irresistible to men. Her unhappiness with her marriage caused Aphrodite to seek out companionship from others, and frequently Ares, due to her strange fascination wiht his violence.

During the Judgement of Paris, Aphrodite had a role. The only the goddess nto invited was Eris (Discord), but she arrived with a golden apple inscribed with the word kallistçi ("to the fairest one") which she threw among the Goddesses. Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena all claimed to be the fairest, and thus the rightful owner of the apple. Of course, Aphrodite felt that because she was the Goddess of Beauty, that she really was the rightful owner.

.:RP Sample:. Aphrodite sat in her temple, looking at her absolutely perfect face that reflected back to her in her mirror. The glorious mirror got the opportunity to look at her everyday. The mirror was of ultimate shine, and edged with silver and dark blue sapphires. Her husband had forged it for her. Aphrodite and Hephaestus were barely married though, it was an agreement, and she wasn't that into it. They got along, but he knew of her infidelity, and apparently didn't mind.

Aphrodite smeared rouge onto her perfect lips, as if to make her more beautiful. She could go around without make up and men would still fall in love with her. Her dark hair cascaded down her shoulders in waves, and she smiled at her reflection. Aphrodite loved her position of power and her special Goddess status. In her mind, she had the best things to be Goddess of. It was all luxury, and all for her. Aphrodite stood from her silver bench with a silk cushion and walked away from her mirror, satsified that she wouldn't need to work hard to look beautiful.[/blockquote]
